Fire victim fined for deadstock removal

Mike Huygers of Wyoming and the trucking company he hired to haul away carcasses from a farm fire the last day of January have been fined $2,500 each after pleading guilty in provincial court at Sarnia.

Both knew they needed licences, but did not obtain them.

Ernie Herrington Excavating, Trucking and Sanitation transported a total of 11 dump truck loads of deadstock from Mr. Huybers' farm to a dump on Feb. 4 and 6, leading to the charges.
