Listeria found in Quebec butter

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has detected Listeria monocytogenes food-poisoning bacteria in butter made by Maurice St-Laurent Limitée of Quebec.

The butter is now on recall; it was distributed in Quebec.

The CFIA says its ongoing investigations might lead to an expansion of the recall.

The CFIA says there have been no reports of illnesses linked to the butter sold in 454-gram packages.
